While attending the 2022 Sales Forum in New Orleans, LA, Jay Cederberg received a phone call from a client, who described that he needed his HVAC system replaced. After a few minutes on the call, Cederberg understood that the problem at hand was more than a simple replacement of parts. Rather, this project would require an immense amount of design work.
Only a few hours prior to this conversation, Ken Fennel of Harvey W. Hottel had spoken to the group about his company’s success of their design-build projects. “I asked Ken how his company approached projects where a sizable amount of design work would be required prior to establishing a firm price for the construction of the project,” Cederberg said. Fennel provided Cederberg with a Letter of Intent, where he was able to edit verbiage, add their logo, and send to any future clients.
By having these types of resources available within The Unified Group, Cederberg was able to avoid an unnecessary, two-hour-trip to a client’s site. “This was a win for me, as it will either get us a good project or avoid needing to deal extensively with another ‘tire kicker,’” Cederberg said.
