Local Indianapolis Companies Come
Together to Make Christmas a Little Brighter for Area School Children

 INDIANAPOLIS, IN, November 19, 2012-
Jackson Systems, LLC, has partnered with local businesses to brighten the
holidays for the students at William Penn Elementary School #49 in
Indianapolis.

William Penn Elementary School #49 is the least privileged of all Indianapolis Public Schools. At School #49, every teacher is invested in their students. They are the voice of the children. Many of the schools’ students are homeless, and many others live in foster care or group homes. The school administrators and
teachers know that they have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives
of their students. They care for their students greatly and strive to help them
overcome their many barriers. Offering programs like free breakfast and lunch
to all students, utility bill assistance, raising funds for student uniforms,
these gracious caregivers go above and beyond for these children they care
deeply for.

Each year Jackson Systems provides two classrooms with winter gloves, books, school supplies, fruit, candy and a classroom party. The kids love the fruit because
for many it is a treat not found at home. They get to choose their own book,
which in some cases is the first book they have ever owned.

This year, Jackson Systems is partnering with other local businesses to take this
program to a new level. The entire school will enjoy a holiday party including
a visit from Santa and one of his reindeer. Activities will include a relay
race and “snowball” fight with stuffed snowballs. With the help of partners,
Jackson Systems will also provide each grade level (K-6) an “Elmo” brand visual
aid projector and a computer projector. Aside from the financial commitment,
there is a lot of time spent planning and executing the event.

“Our goal for getting the word out about this event is to encourage other local
businesses to sponsor a public school and host a similar event,” stated Tom
Jackson. “The joy and excitement of the children who participate in this event
reminds us of why we do it every year. We are so grateful to our partners who
have helped us make this much bigger than ever.”

Local business partners for this event include ERMCO, National Trade Supply, Direct Connect Printing, Snap On Tools, Reachmore, The Family Business Legacy and Silver Square. Jackson Systems wants to encourage other businesses to consider adopting a school in their area to make a child’s Christmas a little brighter.
