Last week The Unified Group hosted its 2017 Construction Forum, “Hard at Work: A Focus on Maximizing Productivity” in Burlington, Vermont. Prior to the session, Dave Brown and Jon Murphy (VHV Company) spent a lot of time coordinating an amazing tour of their facility where the group learned about VHV Company’s culture and award-winning safety program. They shared information about Pro Core and IPS,  new technology that they are using. The group visited VHV Company’s estimating department, piping prefab shop and plumbing prefab shop where they saw first-hand the processes VHV Company uses to work safely and efficiently. The shop tour was followed by a nearby jobsite tour of one of their customers facilities. Over the two and a half day session, the nearly 30 attendees were able to collaborate and share best practices on topics like prefabrication, foremen responsibilities, project management and job closeout. Members were able to see those topics being put into action as they toured VHV Company and as they saw the successful results of their hard work implemented on the jobsite. A big thank you to VHV Company, our member in Burlington, Vermont, for being the host of this year’s forum.

“Fantastic company; Fantastic culture!” says Quinton Selin (Mechanical Service and Systems, Inc.). “There is an obvious amount of combined talent within the company. I’m impressed with the organization and direction they have in mind and planned out.”
