Attendees from this year’s Leadership Forum: Elevate the Leader in You gathered in Kansas City to learn and share best practices on how to lead a high-performing team. Over the course of three days attendees worked to understand the difference of leading vs. managing and learned new skills to become a strategic leader!

The meeting kicked off with guest speaker Jeff Penden who assessed the attendee’s personal communication styles and helped them identify the style of others to learn new ways to communicate more effectively.   He also shared how to build a great team and set direction, as a leader’s success is defined by the success of their team. “The highlight of the day was learning that success or failure starts and ends with leadership.” Tracy Auen, A& G Piping

The group also discussed the five levels of leadership, setting goals, expectations and implementation, and Joe Glassman (Glassman Corporation) lead the group through a presentation on how to support your leaders by providing the tools necessary for them to grow and succeed. Each attendee filled out an action plan with goals to implement upon returning home.
